The patrons of the University of Latvia in cooperation with the University of Latvia Foundation have supported several large-scale projects at the University of Latvia Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Optometry.

Benefit for Latvia, the University of Latvia and the faculty – high-quality scientific publications have been published in recognised journals with a high impact factor, considerable work has been done in the field of both applied and practical research. The supported young researchers and scientists of the University of Latvia are knowledgeable in the field, with extensive working capacity. The projects address current research issues of global importance that will lay the foundations for future research and discoveries.

  • Support for the production of medals for the winners of the Open Mathematical Olympiad and A. Liepa’s Correspondence Mathematics School Mathematics competitions;
  • Support to the International Symposium on Visual Physiology, Environment, and Perception
  • Funding for the event "Physmathdays 2018";
  • Support to Ivars Driķis project "Programming with delight" ("Programmējam ar prieku”) – patron SIA "Mikrotīkls".
  • Support for the development of an experimental laboratory to acquire crystal growing facility – patron SIA "Mikrotīkls";
  • Support to the development of a vision ergonomics research environment – patron SIA "Mikrotīkls";
  • Upgrade of the experimental equipment for magnetic field imaging – patron SIA "Mikrotīkls";
  • Support to the award "PhysMath of the Year 2016" – patron SIA "GroGlass";
  • Support to the School of Young Physicists – patron SIA "GroGlass";
  • Support for the participation of the UL FPMO mixed choir "Aura" in the international choir competition "5th Canta Al Mar 2016";
  • Support for the development of study and work infrastructure in the Department of Physics.
  • Support for the participation of talented students in the International Physics Olympiad 2015.
