“Rigo EcoHack: Igniting Circular Sustainability” is an urban environment hackathon which for the third year invites you to look at your city from a different point of view and participate in shaping its future. This year's hackathon challenge in cooperation with Riga municipality. Hackathon will take place from November 10 to 12 and participants will have the opportunity to win a 10 000 euro grand prize to develop their idea. We invite you to register early, as the number of places is limited.

The project aims to combine the vision of residents and students to participate in the development of business ideas and solutions that would positively affect the use of resources and waste management in Riga. You can sign up for hackathon individually or as a team (4 to 5 participants). At hackathon participants will work on the challenges offered by Riga municipality and DINEX during the weekend under the guidance of professional trainers from the "Kimitisik" team. Teams will be supported by mentors from Riga municipal agency "Rīgas Energy Agency" and others.

Participation in the challenge is free and will take place at the University of Latvia Faculty of Business, Management and Economics, Aspazija Boulevard 5, Riga. Registration is open until October 30, completing the application form. The number of participants is limited, priority will be given to those who sign up first. The working language of the hackathon will be English.

Hackathon will begin on the afternoon of November 10 and end on the afternoon of November 12. Catering will be provided to all participants during the event. The hackathon will be led by an experienced team of entrepreneurial education professionals from education technology company Kimitisik, whose members are from the Netherlands, Hungary and Italy.

At the end of hackathon, teams will present their ideas to members of jury. The best team will be able to continue working on their idea through a 10 000 euro grant aimed at supporting the development, prototyping and testing of their solutions.

“Riga EcoHack: Igniting Circular Sustainability” is organized by UL Faculty of Business, Management and Economics, UL Business Incubator, Riga municipality, Kimitisik and EIT Urban Mobility.
